The Success Journey of Vijay Eswaran

Vijay Eswaran was born on 7th October 1960 to Pushpavathy and Vijayaratnam. He is husband to Umayal Eswaran. According to 2013 records, his net worth is $500 million. Because of the nature of the father’s work, Vijay’s family used to move a lot. As he grew up he learned how to drive and started working as a cab driver. It is the money from this job that he used to pay for his tertiary education. He applied for a degree in sociology at the London School of Economics.

After his graduation in1984, he moved around Europe gaining skills from different jobs.in 1985, he enrolled to Chartered Institute of Management Accountants where he gained knowledge of binary system marketing. He later upgraded to an MBA in 1986 from the Southern Illinois University.

After returning to Asia in 1998, he founded QI Group, a multilevel marketing company. The business dealt in travel, telecommunications, media, luxury products, training, wellness, and corporate investments. The business started out small but as time went buy it became big. It has branches in Hong Kong [headquarters], Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. It also has a vision of extending its business to other countries globally.

He is also a philanthropist and has founded the Vijayaratnam Foundation named after his father.in 2011; he was among the top 48 philanthropists from 12 countries. At the moment he has an ongoing project, QI city, in Bandar Meru Raya, Malaysia, Ipoh, Perak, and Ipoh. It is a commercial-residential area which will include a teaching hospital. The project will also include the Quest International University in which he is the council chairman.

Vijay Eswaran is also an author and has written and published a couple of books some based on his life experiences: In the Sphere of Silence in 2005; In the Thinking Zone in 2010; Two Minutes from the Abyss in 2016; 18 Stepping Stones in 2011 and On the Wings of Thought also in 2011.
